The Sawtooth National Recreation Area holds more than 300 alpine lakes and some of the most dramatic peaks in the West. Redfish Lake, just outside the tiny town of Stanley, is the easy way in: a sandy beach, a historic lodge, a boat shuttle across the water and trailheads that climb straight into the mountains.
