Gold rush cabins in a mountain meadow.
Along the Yankee Fork of the Salmon River, the ghost towns of Custer and Bonanza tell the story of Idaho’s 1870s gold rush. Custer’s old schoolhouse is now a small museum, and nearby you can see the giant Yankee Fork Gold Dredge that once chewed through the riverbed.
